ABACA
rondo

ABACA is the small form of a rondo. In it, part of the piece of music returns over and over again; this part (A) is therefore called a refrain. The parts between the refrain are designated with the letters B, C, D, E and so on. They usually do not connect thematically.

Rondos were especially popular between the 17th and 19th centuries. Famous is the piano piece in A minor “Für Elise” by Ludwig van Beethoven.
