Honolulu-born Alfred Apaka, nicknamed „The Handsome Hawaiian“ oder „The Golden Tenor of Hawaii“, was popular in the US (Las Vegas) and Hawaii since the 1940s, esp. for romantic dance music. His band was called „Hawaiian Village Serenaders“.
