Since 1976 appearances as ukulele player, plus recordings. Kamakawiwo'ole received the highest recognition in his homeland, also because of his advocacy for the rights of the Hawaiians. In 1993, the medley Somewhere Over the Rainbow / What A Wonderful World, which found worldwide recognition, appeared on his album Facing Future.
