Luvaun grew up on Hawaii and relocated to the US after school, where he undertook tour tours from about 1907 to 1913 with a group called Honolulu Students. From 1914 to 1931 he toured many European countries, including the United Kingdom, Scandinavia, the Netherlands, Germany and Switzerland. He sang and played numerous instruments, in particular Hawaiian guitar and ukulele.

Starting in 1916, numerous recordings were made in Europe, on which he played Hawaiian guitar and (at least from 1917 to 1920) also the Ukulele. Particularly popular was his Moana. Hawaiian Waltz.
