  1. Hawai'i Pono'ì (1874)
    Heinrich Berger composed this tune for king Kalākaua, who authored the lyrics. The melody is similar to the Prussian anthem Heil dir im Siegerkranz (Hail to Thee in Victor's Crown). Melody and ukulele arrangement (in a 1914 version) are simple and well suited for beginners. — When king Kalākaua in 1881 visited Japan, he was greeted with this anthem.

    Queen Lili'uokalani composed this farewell song, traditionally played for ships leaving Hawaii.
