In the 1930s, Jack Abbott persuaded his father, the renowned London-based instrument maker John G. Abbott, to hire him to build guitars and [en:vok:ukulele|ukuleles]] because they were the instruments of the future. They built the entire spectrum from soprano to tenor, including banjo. They became very popular with professionals because of their excellent quality, but are extremely rare nowadays. Some of the instruments were also distributed under the brand name of other manufacturers or dealers.
