LEXIS

A kind of musical embellishment in which the main note and a subtone that is a small or large second higher are played rapidly alternately over the notated length of the main note. In the score, a trill is indicated with the abbreviation „tr“ and a wavy line above its main note. But see also tremolo.

Execution

On the ukulele, trills can be produced as single notes with the fret hand, played very quickly in a row, or as a quick succession of hammer-on and pull-off.
