Romanticism
LEXIS
In music the epoch following the Classical period in the 19th century. The guitars became considerably larger during this time (which is why the classic sitting posture with a footstool under the left foot was created) and more versatile. During this time the techniques of the apoyando, slur, vibrato and rubato spread among guitar players. In the late period of Romanticism, timbre was discovered as a new basic compositional element.
